Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Family Birthing Center (Labor and Delivery) night shift position in Salida, CO, requiring a minimum of 2 years of LDRP experience and an active CO or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

Work setting is a Family Birthing Center (FBC) within a hospital environment
Patient population includes labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) patients, including neonates and mother/baby couplets
Night shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, 36 hours per week
Weekend availability is required
Holiday coverage may be required
13-week contract
Directly monitors and supports patients through labor, delivery, and postpartum phases, including breastfeeding assistance and newborn care education
Collaborates with nursery nurses in the care of mother/baby couplets and assists physicians with procedures
Documents all patient events and education in the electronic medical record
Communicates patient condition verbally and in writing to physicians and nursing supervisors
May assist staff with emergencies in other nursing units as needed
This is a Rapid Response/Crisis position

Requirements

Active CO RN license or compact RN license accepted
Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required
Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher from an accredited program required
Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
Preferred certifications: PALS and NRP
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
Must be able to stand for extended periods, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch
Close, color, and peripheral vision required for patient care and monitoring
