Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN) opportunity in Geneva, NY — 14-week travel nursing contract in the Finger Lakes. BSN and active New York RN license required. ICU RN, Med/Surg RN and ED RN experience preferred.

- Contract Length: 14 weeks
- Employment Type: Travel / Contract Nursing
- Hours per Week: 36
- Shift: Full Time, 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Schedule: 3x12 day shifts per week
- Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holidays as scheduled
- On-Call: 2 on-call shifts required per 4-week period
- Openings: 3 Travel RN positions
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250 (travel nurse pay range)
Travel Nurse Requirements / Qualifications
- License: Active New York State RN license in good standing (NY Registered Nurse)
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Experience: Minimum 1 year recent RN experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, and/or Critical Care (ICU/ED experience preferred)
- Certifications (required): BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (AHA or RQI)
- Additional training: Basic Coronary Care within 6 months of hire; CPI certification within 90 days of hire
- Clinical skills: Strong assessment skills, medication administration, EMR documentation, and critical thinking in high-acuity settings
- Professional skills: Ability to handle confidential information discreetly; strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR)
- Recommended (within 2 years): Emergency nursing certification and/or TNCC
Responsibilities — ICU / Med-Surg / ED Float Pool RN
- Float between Med/Surg, ICU, and Emergency Department units at Geneva General Hospital and SSMH locations as a Float Pool Nurse
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients across acuity levels
- Perform rapid assessments, identify changes in patient condition, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
- Administer medications and treatments; monitor patient responses and document accurately in the EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and support patient throughput
- Support unit workflow as a flexible travel nurse and adapt to varied clinical environments and protocols
- Promote a healing environment focused on safety, dignity, respect, and effective communication
- Meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and model professional behavior to support teamwork and positive patient outcomes
