Job Summary:

Deliver top-tier healthcare services by utilizing radionuclides for diagnostic imaging, aiding licensed practitioners in patient diagnosis. This role involves performing nuclear medicine procedures with precision and professionalism.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Conduct nuclear medicine diagnostic tests for both inpatients and outpatients.
• Schedule all nuclear medicine procedures efficiently.
• Verify physician orders and prepare individualized dose sheets for each patient.
• Administer and inspect radioactive doses, ensuring safety and accuracy.
• Operate specialized nuclear medicine equipment such as scintillation scanners to measure radioactive isotope concentrations.
• Prepare and handle radioactive tracers with strict adherence to radiation safety protocols.
• Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures, easing anxieties and securing cooperation.
• Assist patients in proper anatomical positioning and adjust equipment accordingly.
• Maintain confidentiality and detailed records of tests, results, isotope usage, and staff dosimetry.
• Ensure cleanliness and contamination-free environments for rooms, equipment, and personnel.
• Participate actively in the Radiation Safety Committee and coordinate equipment maintenance.
• Document maintenance activities and contribute to quality assurance and improvement programs.
• Provide basic life support when necessary and pursue ongoing education to stay current.
• Adhere to all relevant policies and standards, including on-call duties to support technical needs outside regular hours.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of at least a one-year American Medical Association-approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• Proficiency with computer systems.

Licensure and Certifications:

• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) credential from the Society of Nuclear Medicine.
• State health board certification as required.
