Shift: 48 hours every two weeks, scheduled between 11am Friday and 7am Monday, per policy. Orientation may require full-time work for a focused duration. This position involves rotation during weekends and holidays as per policy. Union position.

Join the Emergency Department at Allegheny General Hospital, a vibrant 35-bed unit situated within a renowned Level 1 Trauma Center. Experience the excitement of working in a cutting-edge facility dedicated to a diverse and complex patient population. Our department is on the verge of significant expansion with renovations set to enhance our capabilities by November 2027, culminating in a brand new 48-bed Emergency Department featuring state-of-the-art technology. In 2024, we were proud to serve over 45,000 patients, averaging 125 patients daily.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:
As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver exceptional care to a targeted patient population, guided by the nursing process. You will apply sharp clinical assessment and care planning skills to ensure safe and effective care tailored to the specific age groups we serve while complying with regulatory requirements. You will lead care delivery activities, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to create comprehensive patient care plans from admission through to discharge. Assessing the educational needs of patients and their families, you will provide age-appropriate education that resonates with their cultural backgrounds and willingness to learn.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- CPR Certification - American Heart Association
- Current State of PA RN licensure or current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
- Minimum of one (1) year of recent Emergency or CDU nursing experience required
- Preference for one (1) year of experience in a relevant unit
