Travel Registered Nurse - ICU

Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Maintain 1:2 patient ratio with average daily census of 10 patients
• Work every other weekend with self-scheduling
• Float to other ICUs when Neuro ICU is overstaffed or other units are critically understaffed
• 24 hours of orientation provided over 5 days a week
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI
• Preferred certifications: NIHSS
• Epic experience required
• 2 years of ICU experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Wear royal blue scrubs
• Must be over 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted)
• Must have compact or Louisiana license in hand upon submittal
• NURSYS reports required within 4 weeks of submission
• Care for neurosurgery ICU patients including post-craniotomy and traumatic brain injury cases
• Perform frequent neuro checks and assist with CT and MRI trips
• Work with specialized equipment including EVDs and Flow Tracs
• May be assigned to Emergency Team during facility emergencies with expectation to remain until event passes
• Strict no call-in policy enforced

This academic medical center operates a specialized 10-bed neurosurgery intensive care unit providing comprehensive critical care services. The facility features advanced neurological monitoring equipment and offers extensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and requires travel nurses to be separated from the health system for one full year before returning as contractors.
