Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as a Certified Patient Care Technician specializing in acute care during day shifts. This role involves delivering compassionate, routine patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses, ensuring a positive and supportive environment for patients and staff alike.
As a Patient Care Technician, you will perform a variety of technical and direct care tasks including CPR, vital signs monitoring, telemetry support, EKG acquisition, wound care, phlebotomy, and assisting with patient mobility and personal hygiene. You will also support administrative duties such as documenting patient data, transcribing physician orders, and coordinating diagnostic tests.
Provide direct patient care within the scope of a Certified Nursing Assistant license. Assist with patient transport, personal care, and meal preparation. Monitor patients on telemetry and perform cardiac monitoring tasks. Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms and supplies. Respond promptly and courteously to patient needs and emergency codes. Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to promote high-quality patient experiences.
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred. Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant program. One to two years of patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting. Telemetry experience is a plus.
Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) license valid in the state of employment. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Medical Assistant Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Strong knowledge of patient care practices and ability to maintain required competencies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a caring and professional demeanor. Proficiency with electronic medical records and medical telemetry equipment. Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
This role requires frequent lifting and carrying of up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, bending, and occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Vision, hearing, and speech must be within normal range with or without corrective devices.
