Education

Registered Nurse (RN) – no specific degree mentioned, but RN license required

Experience

Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience
First-time travelers accepted
Community hospital experience preferred
Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
Charge experience not required
LTAC experience not required

Clinical and Unit Requirements

Must provide care in LDRP: Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum
Care for laboring patients from 35 weeks gestation
Provide postpartum and newborn care
Skills include:
- Antepartum care
- Labor and Delivery
- Vaginal delivery
- Cesarean section care
- Postpartum hemorrhage management
- Mother/Baby and Couplet care
- Newborn assessment and wellcare
- High-risk antepartum care
- Assist with circumcision and post-op care
- Breastfeeding and lactation support
- Car seat education and discharge teaching
- Fundus, lochia, perineal, episiotomy/incisional care
- Starting and maintaining IVs, infusion pumps/drips
- ID/security banding, isolation precautions/PPE
- Baby-friendly protocols
- Teaching hospital experience

(Preferred)

Scheduling and Work Requirements

Night shift (18:45 – 07:15)
3x12-hour shifts per week
Every third weekend required
Call: once per week as needed
Must float within facility and scope of practice

Orientation and Compliance

Orientation 36 hours
Must be fully compliant to start on time
Complete labs and core items within 48 hours of contract signing
