Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position at a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and the ability to pass an EKG exam.

Responsibilities

• Short-term acute care hospital environment, Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital with 733 staffed beds
• ICU setting with a patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required, including to sister campuses depending on assignment
• No on-call requirements
• Charting via Epic (experience required)
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible for this position
• First-time travelers are generally not preferred; consideration may be granted at the manager's discretion based on years of experience
• Pre-start orientation modules required (approximately 4–10 hours)
• Royal blue and white scrubs required
• RTO is subject to manager's discretion, with a general maximum of 4 days; only 1 holiday request can be approved
• Travelers who have previously worked at this facility must have been away for at least 1 year before returning
• Travelers on night shift may extend up to twice before being required to leave for a minimum of 6 months prior to returning

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license currently in hand — pending licenses not accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass an EKG exam — no exceptions
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
