The Lead Biorepository Tech is responsible for performing Biorepository related processing and assists with basic and translational research related to biomarker discovery. This role uses scientific knowledge, approaches and methods that frequently involve tissue banking-related experiments requiring monitoring and analyses and properly manages processing of prospective and retrospective patient tissues. This role requires processing and banking tissue, including but not limited to identification, archiving, storage, retrieval and shipping of tissue specimens (solid and liquid). Sophisticated testing technology is employed within appropriate quality control parameters. This role involves administrative duties. This role will maintain communication with Biorepositories within the HMH network.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required :
Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related field.
Minimum 3 or more years of experience in tissue handling experience in a laboratory or clinical setting.
Excellent analytical skills .
Ability to work with potentially infectious material and understanding of how to work in a BSL2 environment.
Flexible in work schedule. Must be available to stay late to process samples as needed.
Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
Good organization and record-keeping skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred :
Master's degree.
Graduate level training on bioscience discipline.
