This is a full-time role offering a lucrative sign-on bonus based on your qualifications and prior experience.
Compensation Details:
- 0-1 years of experience: 2-year commitment: $10,000; 3-year commitment: $12,000
- 1-2 years of experience: 2-year commitment: $10,000; 3-year commitment: $17,000
- 2+ years of experience: 2-year commitment: $15,000; 3-year commitment: $25,000
GENERAL OVERVIEW:
In this vital role, you will perform both direct and indirect technical tasks for patients before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring an efficient and safe surgical environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in preparing the surgical suite with necessary instruments and supplies. (20%)
- Implement proper aseptic techniques while adhering to standards for medication and specimen handling. (20%)
- Prepare, position, and drape patients while ensuring correct patient and surgical site through participation in the surgical pause. (20%)
- Anticipate and adapt to surgeon preferences and patient care variables, contributing to the maintenance of updated surgeon preference materials. (20%)
- Conduct sponge, needle, and instrument counts accurately. (10%)
- Utilize resources effectively to ensure a cost-efficient environment for patient care. (10%)
- Perform additional duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements:
- One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; or three to six months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Surgical Technologist (ST) hired after December 29, 2020 must have completed an accredited Surgical Technologist program and attained nationally recognized certification (CST, TS-C) within 6 months of hire. Military programs are also accepted.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of surgical technologist experience.
