Position Summary
Join a community-focused hospital in scenic Taos as an Operating Room RN Circulator (travel nurse). This perioperative nursing role supports a broad surgical case mix, emphasizing orthopedic and robotic-assisted procedures (Da Vinci Xi). Ideal candidates are experienced OR RNs seeking New Mexico travel nursing assignments and a supportive operating room team.
Key Qualifications (OR RN - Travel)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand prior to start date (required)
- Minimum 2.5 years recent Operating Room RN experience; 3+ years preferred
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Strong orthopedic OR experience and robotic surgery experience (Da Vinci Xi) required
- C-section and OB/GYN OR experience highly desired
- Comfortable with a variety of surgical procedures across general, pediatric, urology, and gynecologic specialties
- Two professional references required at time of submission
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
- Must comply with strict substance policy (zero tolerance for marijuana)
Primary Responsibilities (OR Circulator / Perioperative Nurse)
- Function as the circulating RN for a wide range of procedures, ensuring patient safety and aseptic technique in the operating room
- Support orthopedic surgeries (total joints, arthroscopy, ORIF), robotic-assisted surgeries (Da Vinci Xi), and general surgical cases
- Participate in C-sections, OB/GYN cases, pediatric surgeries, and common general surgery procedures (appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, colon resection, hysterectomy, DandC)
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and adhere to hospital protocols and safety standards
- Demonstrate flexibility with shift preferences and willingness to assist across the OR suite
- Complete orientation and participate in ongoing professional development relevant to perioperative nursing
