Your Role and Responsibilities
- Executing thorough patient assessments, initiating diagnostic tests, and crafting tailored care plans
- Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic health issues either independently or in partnership with physicians as guided by your credentials
- Sharing knowledge with patients and families about prevention, holistic wellness, and effective disease management
- Prescribing medications and therapies adhering to the established scope of practice
- Participating in patient follow-ups and comprehensive chronic care management

- Keeping thorough and accurate patient documentation within electronic medical records (EMR)
Education Credentials
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree
- Graduation from a state-approved Nurse Practitioner program
Essential Certifications
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in Alabama
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or an equivalent in your specialty area
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or capability to obtain within 90 days)
