Your Responsibilities
- Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering relevant diagnostic tests, and developing personalized care pathways
- Identifying and managing both acute and chronic health conditions in collaboration with physicians or autonomously (as per credentialing)
- Providing education to patients and families on prevention strategies, wellness practices, and chronic disease management
- Prescribing treatments and medications conforming to your scope of practice
- Engaging in patient follow-up and management of chronic care
- Working alongside interdisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, comprehensive care
- Maintaining meticulous documentation within electronic medical records (EMR)
Education Criteria
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Necessary Credentials
- Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Virginia
- National board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP, or ANCC) or a specialty equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to acquire these within 90 days)
