Essential Responsibilities:
- Apply clinical expertise and sound judgment to care for patients across all age groups, from pediatric to geriatric, ensuring personalized treatment plans and patient education.
- Operate therapeutic equipment such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, mechanical traction, and wound care devices.
- Guide patients in the use of assistive devices, braces, orthotics, prosthetics, and exercise equipment.
- Assist patients with mobility, strengthening exercises, muscle reeducation, gait training, and activities of daily living.
- Adapt therapy techniques for patients with cognitive or physical limitations to ensure effective treatment.
- Maintain thorough documentation of patient care in compliance with regulatory and departmental standards.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives and peer reviews to enhance patient care.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and uphold excellent patient and customer relations.
- Supervise aides, students, and volunteers as needed.
- Support departmental functions and contribute to staff education and professional development.
Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited Physical, Occupational, or Speech Therapy program recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association, American Occupational Therapy Association, or American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree is required. Commitment to ongoing professional education and active participation in relevant professional organizations is expected.
Licensure and Certifications:
- Must hold or be eligible for licensure in the applicable state.
- Current CPR certification is required.
This position operates on a first shift schedule within a regional healthcare setting in the Midwest United States.
